In a few days the World Women`s Draughts Championships 2013 will begin in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Ulaanbaatar will host the World Women`s Draughts Championships 2013 between October 1st and 10th. The 16 world leading draughts players who qualified from the World and Continental Cup will compete for the title of World Champion of Draughts.
The 38th World Women`s Draughts Championships will be attended by international draughts players from 10 countries. The competition will be lead by 12 times legendary champion Zoya Golubeva (Riga, Latvia) and attended by three competitors from Mongolia, three from Russia, two from China, two from the Ukraine and Holland, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Estonia will each send one player.
Efforts have been made by the Mongolian Draughts Federation to encourage children`s enthusiasm for draughts and success in competitions in order to develop the sport in Mongolia. Through support from the Federation to reach success in the World and Continental Cups, the number of draughts players has reached 25,000 in Mongolia.
